Today the temperatures were in the low 30's, so we decided to do some work below. We installed a new seal on the refrigerator - the old one was at end of life.

Aloft!
Since I unexpectedly went up the mast the last time, Geralyn agreed to go up the mast the next opportunity. Here's Geralyn going aloft.

This Weekend's Projects
This weekend, we installed Hypervent in the forward stateroom to prevent condensation, lubricated the Selden Furlex, cleaned the navigation light housings, cleaned battery contacts, rerigged the reefing lines, adjusted the lifelines and took time to say hello to some marina visitors, a couple of Mallard ducks and Canadian geese.

New Diesel Heater Exhaust
This weekend, we installed the new heater exhaust. The new hose was too long, so I had to cut it about 4-5 inches shorter. We're pretty happy with the way it turned out, and the heater works great.

Blue
We've been running into this Blue Heron on the way to the boat. He's very alert and watches us until we are well and away. We call him "Blue".

Wallas Exhaust Cleanup Project
Our Wallas Nautic 40D diesel heater exhaust had been rusting at the heater end and at the through-hull end. The through-hull end was rusting so badly, it was dripping rust on the inside of the hull. The through-hull hose clamp was so rusted, it came off when I touched it. The heater end wasn't too bad. One brand of hose clamps fared better than the other, so I've taken note of the rusty brand and the good brand. We have no diesel heat while we wait for a shipment of flexible exhaust pipe and a fiberglass sock from Scanmarine. I can't say enough good things about Scanmarine. They support a fantastic product with great customer service.
